Pia Liptak

Pia Liptak has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe and the United States. Exploring contemporary and lesser-known music mark much of Pia’s performing work. Her duo, vio-LINK-oto, she has recorded music for violin and Japanese koto (Centaur Records). She has also recorded a CD with music by Eastman faculty composers for voice and instrumental ensemble. Pia founded Cordancia with Kathleen Suher.  Since 2007, she has been on the faculty of the Hochstein School of Music and Dance. She has served as the concertmaster for the University of Rochester Symphony Orchestra, Den Fynske Sinfonietta and been a member of the Odense Symphony Orchestra in Denmark. From the Carl Nielsen Academy in Odense, Pia holds diplomas in piano and violin and she earned her MM and DMA from the Eastman School of Music. Among numerous grants and honors, Pia received three residencies at San Cataldo in Italy.
